  12. Here is an observation related to your post.  When I initially loaded 
  13. Win95, I used the USR Sportser 28800 driver as the default for my 
  14. Sportster Vi.  Connecting worked well, but I noticed some features 
  15. were missing.  I downloaded mdmusrsp.inf and mdmusrvi.inf from USR's web 
  16. site and included them in my /inf directory.  Win95 recognized my 
  17. Sportster Vi in the Dialer.

  19. Then, I saw the same thing you noticed.  The modem did not output the 
  20. dial sound, but the speaker came on after the dialing was made.  Second, 
  21. I have call waiting, but the use of Disable Call Waiting in the setup 
  22. file did not work.  I can disable call waiting by putting *70, in the 
  23. number to call string.

  25. I have heard of very similar problems with the Sportster Vi and Procomm 
  26. 2.11; I suspect there is either a problem with the Sportster itself or 
  27. there are some conflicts in the set up strings.
