- Here is an observation related to your post. When I initially loaded
- Win95, I used the USR Sportser 28800 driver as the default for my
- Sportster Vi. Connecting worked well, but I noticed some features
- were missing. I downloaded mdmusrsp.inf and mdmusrvi.inf from USR's web
- site and included them in my /inf directory. Win95 recognized my
- Sportster Vi in the Dialer.
-
- Then, I saw the same thing you noticed. The modem did not output the
- dial sound, but the speaker came on after the dialing was made. Second,
- I have call waiting, but the use of Disable Call Waiting in the setup
- file did not work. I can disable call waiting by putting *70, in the
- number to call string.
-
- I have heard of very similar problems with the Sportster Vi and Procomm
- 2.11; I suspect there is either a problem with the Sportster itself or
- there are some conflicts in the set up strings.
-
- Anyone else see these problems? Solutions?
